What to expect from a White Mountain Family Session
A New Hampshire family session…
Has the ability to be breathtaking; not just because your family is stunning, but because we are blessed with the most beautiful of backdrops for literally EVERY season in the White Mountains (well maybe not so much with mud season…but we make it work).
If you are trying to decide when the right time to take your family portraits are, the answer is whenever you want. Yes, I said it. Fall in New Hampshire is beautiful but it isn’t the only option! Our fall foliage has deep, rich colors so it is a popular time (for literally every human being on the planet haha) but the summer with wildflowers and warm glows is also such a stunning backdrop and is less tourist driven. Orrr maybe even consider a winter family session! Playing in the snow and having a snowball fight with your kiddos. Whichever season you choose, one thing is to be promised, I will deliver you a gallery of images you will cherish for a lifetime.
Things to keep in mind:
Movement Movement Movement!! This is the most important aspect of our family session together. I really encourage parents to let their kiddos be free, have fun, and explore the location of our session. Most of our magic happens when I am documenting their natural reactions and responses to the world around them.
With that said, yes we do still incorporate traditional poses in our sessions. We have to get the “Christmas card” photo, and then from there we can glide into something a little less static and more authentic to you and your family.
What To Bring:
A well rested family is a happy family haha please make sure everyone gets their naps in and has had some snacks prior to our session!
An outfit that fits your session location/ makes sense for the vibe you’re looking for (try to stead clear of matching, and focus more on color coordination)
A flexible mindset; things may need to change on the fly and we need to embrace it and be mentally prepared for that!
Final Notes:
A New Hampshire family session in the White Mountains is pure bliss when everyone is prepared and excited(Yes, that included the dad’s haha)!
