Caouette Vow Renewal

About two months ago I received an email from a beautiful bride with a special vision in mind. She wanted to surprise her husband with a vow renewal ceremony in the White Mountains of New Hampshire! Not only that, but she wanted to do it at the Sunset Hill House in Sugar Hill, NH (which in my opinion has one of the most stunning views in the north country). Amy, had everything planned out perfectly; from the cake, figuring out how to get her husband to pack a suit for their little getaway, to booking me as their photographer. She truly rocked the planning process!

Could you imagine planning something with this many moving parts and keeping that a secret from your husband for that long!? The best part of this whole thing, is that he actually thought they were going on a small vacation to New Hampshire to see the Ice Castles in Woodstock for their anniversary. It wasn’t until the night before the ceremony that she told him they would be renewing their vows, on their actual anniversary date!

Que me walking into their gorgeous room, snapping some detail shots and bridal portraits before their ceremony.

Once arriving to the Sunset Hill House, I was able to check out the space in which the vows were being renewed.

Let me tell you, this room was IMMACULATE! The original hardwood floors, a fire place that was roaring with warmth once I arrived, a soaker tub off the master bedroom where it overlooked the White Mountains through a massive bay window? This place was IT, screaming for romance and a wedding!

These two are high school sweethearts that have been together for eleven years and married for four. When they first got married, they did it at the courthouse, not with a formal wedding. So Amy really wanted to go all out for this by hiring a New Hampshire wedding photographer (me), buying a wedding cake, and having a Justice of the Peace come to formally renew their vows.

Pro Tip:

BJ’s sells wedding cakes for $39.00 in case you’re a bride on a budget!

Watching two people recommit to one another, seeing them explain how much love they have in their whole being to one another, and to see that love pouring out of them from behind the camera lens, it’s an unmatched experience. One that I am always so grateful to my clients for.

I am trusted to capture the biggest moments in your world; giving full faith that I will make authentic moments timeless and tailored to you. It’s a beautiful thing.

Fun Fact:

New Hampshire weather is not for the easily chilled! These two were troopers, traipsing through the snow in their wedding dress and suit to ensure that we capture the stunning background that is Sugar Hill.

When booking sessions or weddings with me, I am a person who will certainly help you laugh your way through any uncomfortable moment, especially if it has to do with the weather. It is so important to me that you get β€œThe Money Shot” of your wedding dreams! Which can require some excessive snuggling outside during a New Hampshire winter!

Overall,

This vow renewal, was one not to be forgotten. If you are a couple looking to renew your vows and are needing some advice on how to make it happen, following these steps are a key to your success:

  • Find an amazing photographer (preferably Nicole Marie Photography haha but I’m biased).

  • Location location location!! Ensure that your place to renew is ideal for you and your partner, it should encompasses you both!

  • Desserts and treats to celebrate!

  • Add some floral design! Flowers make everything pop, and they can give a photo a new feeling.

  • Make the day about YOUR LOVE; having an intimate ceremony or moment to yourselves is the most important aspect of a vow renewal, so spoil yourselves!
